As a long-time fantasy and science fiction fan, Loring spends most of her life making up stories about everything around her, including the faces in the bathroom tiles.

With a BA in Writing Arts and a BA in Psychology, Loring hopes her stories will encourage young people to find the inner strength to live their own, authentic truths and face whatever challenges vex them. Before beginning her writing career, she spent nineteen years running a veterinary hospital. So, in her worlds, animals are people too.

She writes, makes art, and watches for the Jersey Devil in the Pine Barrens of New Joisey, where she lives with her husband, three dogs, five cats, and one macaw.

Past projects have included Pyrographic Art (also known as woodburning), Jewelry-making, dog training, and running a veterinary hospital.
